The short version: We collect your email and optional streaming preferences to run the StreamStack waitlist. We use Cloudflare to store signup data and Klaviyo to manage email communications. We don't sell your data. Ever. You can ask us to delete it anytime by emailing streamstack2026@gmail.com.
Who We Are
StreamStack NZ Ltd is a New Zealand registered company building a streaming subscription aggregation service for New Zealand households. This privacy policy covers how we collect, use, and protect personal information through our website at streamstack.co.nz and our waitlist service.
We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its 13 Information Privacy Principles.
What We Collect
When you join our waitlist, we may collect:
- Email address — required to add you to the waitlist and send you launch updates
- Display name — optional, shown on the public referral leaderboard
- Streaming platforms you currently pay for — optional (e.g. Netflix, Neon, Disney+), used in aggregate to support platform negotiations
- Your #1 streaming platform — optional, used in aggregate only
- Approximate monthly streaming spend — optional (a spend range, not an exact figure), used in aggregate only
- Referral code used — if you signed up via a friend's referral link, we record which code was used
- Referral count — how many people have signed up using your referral code, used for the leaderboard and competition
- New Zealand residency confirmation — a checkbox confirming you're based in NZ, as StreamStack is a NZ-only service
All fields except email address are entirely optional. Platform and spend data is only ever reported in aggregate — we will never share your individual responses with any streaming platform or third party.
We also collect standard web analytics data (page views, referral sources) through Cloudflare, which does not identify you personally.
How We Use Your Information
- To add you to our waitlist and send you launch updates, pricing announcements, and news about StreamStack
- To track referrals and manage the referral competition
- To aggregate streaming platform preference, top platform, and monthly spend data — for example reporting to streaming platforms that "X% of our waitlist currently pay for Netflix" or "average spend is $Y/month". We only ever share these aggregate totals, never individual responses
- To improve our website and service based on usage patterns
We will not use your information for any purpose other than those listed above without your explicit consent.
Who We Share It With
We use the following third-party services to operate the waitlist:
- Cloudflare — stores signup data in their D1 database and Workers platform. Data is stored in Cloudflare's global infrastructure. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Klaviyo — manages our email list and sends communications. Your email address and optional profile properties are stored in Klaviyo. See Klaviyo's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not share individual data with streaming platforms — only anonymised aggregate statistics.
Email Communications
By joining the waitlist you consent to receiving email updates from StreamStack NZ about our launch, pricing, and service news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing streamstack2026@gmail.com.
We will not send you marketing emails unrelated to StreamStack.
Your Rights Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Delete your information and be removed from our waitlist
- Know how your information is being used
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we've breached the Privacy Act

Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Your data is stored in Cloudflare's secure infrastructure with access restricted to StreamStack staff only. We do not store payment information — StreamStack is a pre-launch waitlist only and no payments are taken.
Data Retention
We retain waitlist data until StreamStack launches or the venture is wound up, whichever comes first. If you request deletion before then, we will remove your data within 20 working days. After launch, data retention will be governed by a separate customer privacy policy provided at sign-up.
Cookies
Our website uses minimal cookies — primarily for Cloudflare security and basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Klaviyo's email system may use tracking pixels in emails to record whether emails are opened; you can disable this by turning off image loading in your email client.
Children
StreamStack is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have done so, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify waitlist members by email before the changes take effect. The current version is always available at streamstack.co.nz/privacy.html.
